If you are keeping an eye on the Kimberley BC real estate market, February brought some interesting movement. Buyer activity increased compared to last year while the number of available homes remained relatively tight. Below is a quick breakdown of what happened in the Kimberley residential market last month and what it could mean if you are thinking about buying or selling this year.
A total of 19 homes came to market in February, which is about 17% fewer than February of last year. Fewer new listings means buyers have slightly less choice than they did a year ago, which can help maintain balance in the market.
There were 16 homes sold in February, representing a 33% increase compared to the same time last year. This shows that buyers are still actively watching the Kimberley BC real estate market and ready to move when the right property becomes available.
Inventory remains fairly tight in Kimberley. At the end of February there were 62 active residential listings, which is down about 19% year over year. Limited inventory often means well priced homes tend to attract strong interest from buyers.
Homes are taking a little longer to sell than earlier in the winter, with the average days on market sitting at 105 days. That said, this is still about 6% lower than February of last year, showing that properly priced homes are continuing to move.
Sellers are still seeing solid results in today’s market. On average, homes sold for 96% of their list price, which is about 3.2% higher than last February.
So far in 2026, the Kimberley BC real estate market has remained relatively balanced. Inventory is still limited compared to historical levels, which means well priced homes tend to attract strong interest. Buyers are taking a more thoughtful and informed approach than we saw during the peak market years, but demand remains steady for homes in desirable neighbourhoods and close to amenities. As we move further into the spring market, it will be interesting to see whether new listings begin to increase and how that affects competition among buyers.
Overall, the Kimberley BC real estate market continues to move at a steady pace. Inventory remains limited, buyers are active, and well priced homes are attracting attention. For sellers, proper pricing and strong presentation continue to make a big difference in how quickly a home sells. For buyers, being prepared and ready to act when the right property appears can be key in a market with limited inventory.
